WAR LEADER TO BUSINESS LEADER

03/02/2009
WAR LEADER TO BUSINESS LEADERIn the UK’s current economic climate, effective planning, leadership and teamwork can make the difference between business failure and success. An innovative Northamptonshire-based company is offering UK companies the unique opportunity to learn life and death skills from military wartime commanders and former members of the Red Arrows.

“The Red Arrows are accepted as one of the best examples of teamwork in the world.” says Chris Norton, director of The Blades: “Add their skills to those of commanders who have planned and led military operations, a former Red Arrows team leader and several highly-experienced combat pilots and you have a unbeatable combination. The lessons we learnt in the most exacting circumstances are directly relevant to the hard reality of business today.”

Each member of The Blades contributes their hard-won experience and expertise, combining theory, real-life examples and practical activities in a unique experiential learning environment.

The Blades’ unique offering has already attracted a high level of interest. Their broad client list includes Lloyds TSB, Selex Gallileo, Breitling and Honda. The Blades believe that their military heritage is key to their success: “A clear vision and a coherent campaign with contingency plans are all part and parcel of military planning.” says Chris: “Budgets are tight everywhere so it is vital to be lean and agile in order to give real value for money. Our clients enjoy an outstanding experience whilst finding relevant and unforgettable business solutions.”

Located in top quality, purpose-built facilities at Sywell Aerodrome near Northampton, The Blades’ team members are relishing their metamorphosis from war leaders to business leaders. “We provide expertise, events and experiences that are unique in the marketplace.” says Chris: “Working with clients to make a tangible improvement in their business is highly rewarding – and many of the challenges faced by businesses are no different to those faced by the military in going to war.”
